These rebate checks stimulated Saudi Arabia and not the US economy! Its like Pres. Bush robbed us blind and taken us as a fool. If you are smart you would use it to pay for gas. The money is just to offset for high gas. Even if you buy consumer products you will be putting that money back in the pump. The tax rebate will not help the economy (maybe for a few weeks).

If you think the term ‘economic stimulus’ rebate check is unbiased, then I have some sad news for you. This is a scam to delay the reality and awareness of the recession caused by this president’s fiscal policies.
Oh, and just so you know, that money to cover that ‘check’ is being drawn from an account in Asia and eventually they’ll come after you and your grandchildren to pay up the deduction with interest.

wait my dad is getting two checks, one (rebate check) for overpaying taxes, which is usually given back around this time and he is getting a seperate “economic stimulus” rebate check.
I don’t understand, there are people that are saying this has always happens every year and then there are people who are saying its a seperate check to stimulate the economy.

Consumer spending is a prime component of GDP and, relative to aggregate disposable income, this is a significant amount. Congress is even thinking of another one in a few months.
The only other thing they could do is spend on infrastructure, which creates jobs and has a bigger effect on the economy long-term, but they want to make us happy now not next year.
